Nightlife

The lively nightlife scene on Greenville Avenue began in the 1940s, when the Granada Theater first opened as a movie house. It was eventually converted into an indie/folk music venue, bringing late-night vibes to Lower Greenville in Dallas, TX, along with a swarm of bars, restaurants, and so many things to do around the neighborhood.

Food & Dining

With the departure of long-time coffee shop and bar Mudsmith, as well as the 26-year-old Taco Cabana, and the food and dining bistros, the neighborhood has seen a lot of changes in the last year. However, there have been numerous new restaurants and bars, including Alamo Club, Eastside Social, Terilli’s, and Flatbread Company.

Rapscallion, known as one of the “Best Brunch Spots” in Dallas, TX, is arguably the best place to start your morning in Lower Greenville. From their signature Smoked Chicken Hash to Gammy’s Monkey Bread with Texas pecans, Rapscallion’s Southern-inspired menu is truly worth your food and dining experience. For cheesy dessert fans, Val’s Cheesecakes is a must visit. Order by the slice, the jar, or go all in on an entire cheesecake to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Another restaurant to check out in the neighborhood is the Hinodeya Ramen Bar, a new favorite ramen spot from Japan, that has opened right next door. Instead of chicken or pork stock, chefs use dashi broth with fish stock, bonito skipjack tuna, and seaweed. The menu features house ramen, clam ramen, chicken ramen, and even vegan options.

If you’re on for a caffeine fix, Halcyon is your go-to Lower Greenville coffee shop for a good cup of coffee and a great place to hang out or work.
