Deep Ellum Neighborhood Highlights
Deep Ellum was originally called Elm Street, a corruption of the area’s name which comes from the thoroughfare. It gets its alternative name from Deep Elm and Deep Elem, two other old names for this area. These days, Deep Ellum is known for its lively nightlife and eclectic mix of restaurants and bars.
Deep Ellum Itineraries
A good place to visit is The Bomb Factory. This venue has been around since the early days of Deep Ellum and has hosted some of the biggest names in music. From there, make your way to Trees Dallas. This club was an important part of the industrial development that took place in Deep Ellum later on and is still going strong today.
Next, head to 3500 Main Street for a bite to eat. This building used to house one of the most popular clubs in town, but it’s now been converted into a food hall with several different restaurants to choose from. After lunch, walk over to The Cedars Social for a drink (or two). This spot is perfect for those who want to relax and take in the artistry that surrounds them.

Where To Eat & Drink In Deep Ellum
Deep Ellum is a cultural and residential center for African-Americans. AllGood Cafe, Angry Dog, and St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin are some casual restaurants in Deep Ellum.
If you’re looking for a great BBQ spot in Deep Ellum, Pecan Lodge is the place to go. The ribs are definitely the star of the show, but be sure to try out the macaroni and cheese and coleslaw too – they’re both delicious.
There are several locations of Monkey King Noodle Company (MKNC) in Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). MKNC is a Deep Ellum institution with multiple locations in DFW. The soup is a hit, and the dumplings are worth ordering as well.

Deep Ellum Denim was founded in 2009 and has been a success since. They offer jeans for men, women, children, and even babies. The denim is handcrafted to last a lifetime with the best raw materials available.
Flea Style is a store that is run by women. They focus on vintage, eclectic, and homemade items.

Head east on Main St toward bubble tea store Bobaddiction and turn right onto S Hall St
Keep on S Hall St for 0.2 miles, your destination will be on the right after the Dallas Police Department
From The Crosby to Uplift Luna Preparatory
Head southeast on S Hall St towards Wendy Krispin Caterer and turn right onto S Malcolm X Blvd, keep going until you get to the Malcolm X at Elm -N- NS bus stop to Elm St and turn left, in 0.2 miles destination will be on the right just after the moving company North American Van Lines
From Uplift Luna Preparatory to Dallas Comedy Club
Take Indiana towards the Design agency Lodge 26 to N Malcolm X Blvd and continue on Indiana St towards our roofing contractor Alpha Roofing Co when you get to N Hall St turn right towards the Hall at Elm -S- NS bus stop and turn right again onto Elm St, your destination will be on the left
From Dallas Comedy Club to Exposition Plaza
Head west on Elm St toward Deep Ellum Lofts, turn left onto N Walton St towards Hattie B’s Hot Chicken Dallas restaurant and after 0.2 miles turn left onto Canton St and continue for 0.4 miles, passing by the CrossFit Deep gym and the Classic Architectural Specialties, then turn right onto Exposition Ave and sharp left to stay on Exposition Ave, your destination will be on the right.
From Exposition Plaza to Dallas City Marshal’s Office
Head northwest on Exposition Ave toward Canton St then turn left onto Canton St towards the Deep Ellum Lofts Dog Park, and in 0.3 miles turn left just after the Canton at Hall -W- NS bus strop, onto S Hall St turn left again after Apptech onto Chestnut St and your destination will be on the left in front of the Public Storage
From Dallas City Marshal’s Office to The Power station
Head North on Chestnut St and turn right after TX Dallas Electrician onto S Hall St, then turn right after the City of Dallas Department of Sanitation Services onto Canton St and in 0.3 miles turn right just after Exposition Plaza onto Commerce St, your destination will be on the left in the corner of Willow St and after our interior designer Plan B Group.
From The Power station to Deep Ellum Brewing Company
Head west on Commerce St and turn left at the 1st cross street onto Benson St, turn right at the 1st cross street onto Exposition Ave, passing the Exposition Plaza turn left onto Canton St and continue for 0.3 miles, then turn left when you get to the Canton at Hall -W- NS bus stop onto S Hall St, then turn right after Hill LLC onto S Malcolm X Blvd and turn left in the first cross street onto St Louis St, your destination will be on the right
From Deep Ellum Brewing Company to The Medlin Law Firm
Head west on St Louis St toward S Crowdus St, S Louis St turns slightly right and becomes S Crowdus St, turn left in the Whiskey Hatchet corner onto Canton St then, you will see The Factory in Deep Elllum on your right, turn right onto S Good Latimer Expy Pass by 7-Eleven (on the right) and finally turn left onto Gaston Ave/Pacific Ave Destination will be on the left next to the Gaston at Good Latimer – N – NS bus stop.
