Buck Sansom Park is located at 3600 Sansom Park Dr., Fort Worth, TX. Roughly 131.6 acres, the park is a popular venue for families to go and relax at. It is part of the City of Fort Worth’s Marine Creek Park Corridor. This section includes Marine Creek Linear North Park, Marine Creek Linear Park, Lincoln Park, Rodeo Park, and of course, Buck Sansom Park.
The acquisition of land that would eventually become Buck Sansom Park started in 1927 with 32.57 acres sold to the city of Fort Worth by real estate developer Sam Rosen. Later on, Marion Sansom gave 40 acres to the city and sold 67 acres more to complete what is now the core of the park. It was eventually dedicated in 1937.
The park features several amenities for all of the area’s residents. The sports-minded like having an easily accessible baseball/softball field and an outdoor basketball court in the park. They also have soccer goals available for use.
Residents looking to just relax and enjoy some food with family and friends enjoy the readily available picnic tables and grills. People don’t have to worry about spending the day at the park since there are portable restrooms for the public. Rain and sun are not a problem since sheltered areas are also available.
Nature enthusiasts enjoy the walking trails and the assortment of plants and flowers in the park. A nice leisurely walk along the trails before or after a filling snack at the picnic tables is a great way to spend the day at Buck Sansom Park. Families also enjoy the playground where kids can spend the day playing while parents sit back and relax. The park is a great place to spend the day with family and friends, and it is open from dawn to dusk so everyone makes the most of the day together.
