Arlington Heights Neighborhood In Fort Worth TX
Arlington Heights In Brief
Arlington Heights is a neighborhood in Fort Worth not to be confused with the Fort Worth suburb of Arlington. It is home to over four thousand people.
Camp Bowie Boulevard is the northern edge of the subdivision. Montgomery Street is the eastern edge of the neighborhood. I-30 is the southern edge of the neighborhood. The Cultural District with attractions like the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, Alice Walton Cowgirl Park and Fort Worth Museum of Science and History are a short distance to the east. University Drive and the sprawling Trinity Park are just beyond that. The Trinity Park runs along the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. Residents could take Trail Drive to the Trinity Trails Trinity Park Main Trailhead.
Arlington Heights High School is located just south of the neighborhood on the south side of Highway 377 / Interstate 30. Children in the area are generally assigned to North Hi-Mount Elementary School. That is located in Arlington Heights. South Hi Mount Elementary School and WC Stripling Middle School are inside of the neighborhood boundaries. The UNT Health Science Center is a block north of the community. This is the only medical school in north Texas. It is a joint venture between TCU and UNT. The main TCU campus is several miles to the south. It can be accessed by taking University Drive south. That makes this neighborhood popular with medical students.
The Thomas Place Community Center is next to Thomas Place Park. Sanguinet Park is one block north of the northern border of the community; it is on the north side of Camp Bowie. It is at the intersection of El Campo Avenue and Merrick Street. Farrington Field is located at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and University Drive. This puts it in biking distances for Arlington Heights residents.
The River Crest Country Club is just north of the neighborhood. It is officially in the Crestline area. West Beyer is directly west of the subdivision. The Riverbend neighborhood is north of that on the north side of the West Fork of the Trinity River. Chisholm Trail Parkway and I-30 merge roughly a mile east of the neighborhood. Beyond that is Fort Worth’s medical district. That is where Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, Cook Children’s Medical Center, Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center and John Peter Smith Hospital are located
The Chapel Hill Shopping Center is located at the intersection of Hulen Street and I-30. There are quite a few shops located along Camp Bowie, as well. There are bus routes along Camp Bowie and Hulen Drive.
Many of the homes here were built shortly before and after World War 2. Three bedroom homes generally cost around 400,000 dollars. While that is higher than the average cost of a Fort Worth home, it is a deal compared to Crestline and Monticello to the north. The area has seen slow, steady, two to three percent appreciation over the past few years.
The area received a walk score of 57 and public transit score of 36. It was given a bike score of 48.
